Rezdôra

In March 2024, I had an early dinner at Rezdôra after quickly securing a 5:15pm reservation that became available via Resy’s notify feature. I had only been here once before, and as a homemade pasta aficionado, I was excited to come back to try more. Here’s a look at the nine different dishes we tried, and what I thought of each.

Stracciatella Incontra Lambrusco ($25) ★★★★☆

We started off with an order of the “Stracciatella Incontra Lambrusco,” which was rich and delicious, but would have been difficult to eat without the side of grilled bread (“Fett’unta) pictured below. While we enjoyed this, I wouldn’t say it’s a “must order” dish and if anything, it will just fill you up quickly! It’s also pricey for a starter…

Fett'unta ($9) ★★★★☆

We enjoyed this grilled and toasty bread with olive oil, but it isn’t necessary to order on it’s own. If you order the Stracciatella or Burrata, I would order this so that you have something to enjoy the cheese on.

Cacio e Pepe in Emilia ($15) ★★★★☆

The Cacio e Pepe salad is made with “little lettuces,” pecorino dressing, and cracked pepper. It was delicious, but heavily dressed and cheesy, and if you are ordering this to have something “healthy” on the table, think twice.

Pisarei ($27) ★★★★★

Of the four pastas we tried, the Pisarei with duck ragu from Emilia was by far my favorite, and I’d go as far as to say it is one of the top pasta dishes I’ve have in NYC. The pisarei pasta was dense and chewy, and the duck ragu tender and flavorful. This is a “must order” item!

Grandma Walking Through Forest in Emilia ($28) ★★★★☆

When you think of Rezdôra, you probably think of this dish. These cappelletti verdi with roasted, sautéed leeks and black mushroom puree are the restaurant’s most iconic item! I enjoyed them, but found the filling to be a bit sweet for my taste, and the flavor was strangely reminiscent of a mole sauce. I would personally skip this one next time, but I understand why people love it!

Uovo Raviolo Di Nino Bergese ($35) ★★★★★

This large raviolo topped with black truffle was another favorite dish of mine. The pasta was thick with a satisfying level of chewiness, and the ricotta and egg yolk filling was rich and indulgent. This is a “must order” dish for me.

Tagliolini al Ragu ($26) ★★★☆☆

This dish was my least favorite of the pastas we tried, as the tagliolini noodle itself had a strong eggy flavor that was not for me. The ragu was nice, but not as flavorful as the duck ragu in the Pisarei dish. I would recommend skipping this one entirely.

Gelati ($15) ★☆☆☆☆

We tried two different gelato flavors- the extra virgin olive oil and the stracciatella, and I would advise against ordering either. The texture of both was icy, and neither had much flavor at all.

Torta D’Oliva ($18) ★★★★☆

I really enjoyed this olive oil cake! It had a bold and satisfying olive oil flavor and a soft texture. It was the perfect bite to finish off the meal with.

Bonus points for cute matches!
