Travelers, Poets, and Friends

Fusilli with Anchovies, Butter, and Truffle

I tried 17 different dishes across two separate visits from the new, meat-free, Italian cafe and provisions shop Travelers, Poets, and Friends, and I can honestly tell you that not a single dish missed!

The team behind Osteria 57, Alice, and Pamina Gelato opened this fourth space in the old Sammy’s Noodle House space in December 2023. They bought out the entire block, with Pamina Gelato on the north corner, Travelers, Poets and Friends in the center, and a wine bar/restaurant to come on the south corner.

At Travelers, Poets, and Friends, you will find homemade pastas, pastries, breads, and more served in a warm, open cafe with free wifi. The menu rotates daily, but here is everything I tried:

  • Matcha Latte ($5.50)

  • Poached Pear and Custard Tart ($

  • Maritozzi ($4.75)

  • Veneziana ($4.50)

  • Polenta Cake

  • Pear and Gorgonzola Focaccia ($5 per slice)

  • La Rossa Focaccia ($4 per slice)

  • Tropea Onion Focaccia ($4 per slice)

  • Pane e Pomodoro ($14)

  • Milanese Sandwich ($17.50)

  • Truffle Arancini ($14 for two)

  • Cacio e Pepe Fritti ($14 for two)

  • Paccheri Pomodoro ($16)

  • Rigatoni with Pistachio Pesto ($18)

  • Bucatini Cacio e Pepe ($17)

  • Fusilli with Butter, Anchovies, and Truffle ($26)

  • Eggplant Parmesan

Every single item was enjoyable, with the highlights being the Poached Pear and Custard Tart, La Rossa Focaccia, Pane e Pomodoro, Pomodoro Paccheri, and Fusilli with Butter, Anchovies, and Truffle.

This is a great spot for a date, a casual lunch or afternoon snack with a friend, or for a solo outing to get a bit of work done over a good bite.
